Business Description

Erica has been teaching yoga in the Lehigh Valley since 1998. She was drawn to Ashtanga after experimenting with other styles and classes for several years. Erica completed her first teacher training with Larry Shultz, who was very influential on her teaching style. She also studied with Beryl Bender Birch, Kathy McNames, David Swenson, Nancy Gilgoff, Manju Jois, Richard Freeman, Patthabi Jois, and her current teacher, David Williams.

After holding a variety of jobs ranging from turnpike flagger to working in a dialysis center, Erica finally made the switch to teaching yoga full-time. The first places she taught yoga included local YMCAs and community centers. Erica and her cousin, a kickboxing teacher, opened a studio together called Alive and Kicking in 1999. After a few years, Erica relocated to the Silkworks building and opened Lehigh Valley Yoga. Erica owned this studio until 2006, when she sold the business to a former student.
