But in 2010, collector, Victorian golfer, and all-around English gentleman Peter Herrington purchased the store with the intention of being a very hands-on owner.

Today, Dunaway Books is managed by Vern, who takes great pride in the store and loves to show curious customers the most interesting, unusual, and niche books in the Dunaway collection. Claudia and her husband, Kevin, who are lifelong readers and longtime collectors, bought Dunaway Books in 2017 to house their expansive collection of books. Both continue at full-time jobs during the week and find respite at Dunaway with their dog, Blue, on the weekends.
