The staff at Danceworks are degreed and/or certified by Associated Dance Teachers of New Jersey and Dance Masters of America. Furthermore, Danceworks offers a student company that allows dancers to give back to the community through philanthropic performances such as the Denville Open House, charity benefits, and community events.

Danceworks was established in 1993 by owner and director, Christine Kohler. Originally located at 1 West Main St. in Denville, Danceworks was formerly known as the Livingston School of Dance which operated out of this location for over 35 years. Miss Chris has also been on staff at Mary Lous Hale's School of Dance, On Your Toes Dance Academy, and White Meadow Lake Womens Club, all prior to owning Danceworks. In 2007, Danceworks moved to its current location at 469 East Main St.

Christine Kohler, Danceworks' director, has been sharing her passion for dance with the community for over 25 years. She is certified to teach dance through rigorous examination by Dance Masters of America and is a graduate of their teacher training program. She has also been certified by Associated Dance Teachers of New Jersey and USA Gymnastics. Christine's conservative approach to today's dance trends is respectful of the developing dancer. In 2014, Christine was named Business Person of the Year by the Denville Chamber of Commerce, recognizing her outstanding service and significant contributions to the community.
