I began playing guitar at the age of 15. Having something positive, beautiful and true to channel my creative energy into at that time, in many ways, saved my life. Honestly, I started teaching guitar at 22 because I saw it as a good way to make a living while having a guitar in my hand as I tried to "make it" with my band. Much to my surprise, I discovered right away that I enjoyed teaching and had a talent for it. Connecting with my students through a shared passion for music was a joy and watching them grow as musicians and people was incredibly fulfilling. I also kept seeing new ways I could better serve my students and that engaged my creativity in a way that I found very rewarding. In short, I found that I'm a natural teacher as well as a musician.
Teaching guitar and developing music artists connects me to my community and the world using my greatest gifts. I feel very blessed by music and that's a blessing that I love to pass on to my students. That's why I continue to do.
