Business Description
Michael Cummings joined the camp as a camper back in 2003, began his camp-career as a Jr. Counselor in 2013; and was promoted to Sr. Counselor in 2017 (when he was voted Sr. Counselor of the Year), and became a Manager in 2019. Michael was promoted to the position of Executive Director in 2021, and assumed ownership of the camp in August 2023, becoming the sixth owner in the camp's 77-year history. He supervises the California DMV Commercial Driver License training for all the camp's Sr. Counselors and manages every behind-the-scenes aspect of the camp, ranging from employee background-checks and CPR certification to archery and canoeing safety protocols, to maintaining full compliance with L.A. County Children's Camp Safety Ordinance. He oversees the camp's daily operations. Whether pre-scheduling each troop's activities, managing extended care, or selecting Clydesdales for the horse-drawn wagon rides, Michael makes sure all the camp's activities are safe and thoroughly entertaining.
