The owner, Ivonna "Ivy" Earnest, had the idea for Boozetique one beautiful spring day while driving to the state wine store at 255 South 300 East on her way to a brunch with friends. She wanted to put a bottle of champagne in a nice wine bag to take to the brunch, but didn't know where to buy any. That's when she thought to herself, "Why don't I carry those items?!" The art gallery, located on 315 East 300 South seemed like the perfect fit with music, art, and wine.

In November 2013, the first wine and cocktail accessories were sold, just in time for the holiday season, and Boozetique has been expanding ever since. E3 Modern, which features local artists and custom-made hi-fi vacuum tube audio equipment made by Josh Stippich of ElectronLuv and E3 Fabrication, is right next to the State Wine store, making it a convenient place to purchase a diverse array of accoutrements.

Ivonna Earnest, the owner of Boozetique, is a lover of tasty drinks, pretty stuff, and has been a lifelong enthusiast of cocktails and pickles. She created this establishment to bring booze-related accessories, gifts, and games to the public after realizing that no such place existed in Salt Lake City.
