Doster began making art at age eleven, when working with his father in furniture business. For more than fifty years, he has conducted artist residencies in schools for all ages. Doster's works have won many awards and can be found in galleries, museums, corporate/public/private collections worldwide. He is a native of Lancaster, SC and owns and operates Bob Doster's Backstreet Studio/Gallery/Garden located 217 East Gay Street in the Cultural Arts District of Lancaster, SC 29720 and a second location at 962 Oak Street, Spruce Pine, NC 28777.
