The family continued to live in the home until 1913, and Harrison's second wife Mary Lord Harrison ensured that the home and its artifacts would be forever preserved when she sold it to the Jordan Conservatory of Music. After a period of use as a dormitory, the home was eventually opened as a historic site and museum in 1966.
