The farm and garden center are the brainchild of Bob and Sue Bedner, who started growing plants for the family farm market in Upper St. Clair in the 1970s. After years of expanding their greenhouse and produce growing operation in Cecil, they decided to branch off and open Bedner's Farm & Greenhouse for business in the spring of 1997. Their son Russ and his wife Melanie joined them, and in the early 2000s, they began to expand the garden center to include perennials and trees/shrubs. The landscape design, installation, and maintenance division was started in 2013.

With 17 greenhouses, Bedner's Farm & Greenhouse is a one-stop-shop for all your gardening needs. The farm is a sight to behold, especially during the winter months when everything is grown there. From hanging baskets, potted annuals, herb & vegetable plants, to perennials, Bedner's has it all. The garden center opens each year in March through October, where you can find a very large and fresh selection of homegrown trees, shrubs, perennials, and annuals. The center also stocks gardening supplies, bulk and bagged soils, mulch, fall mums, and pumpkins.
