Business Description

Katie Stellpflug has owned Artique on her own since 2013, with the help of the other artists, the gallery is run similar to a co-op business model.

Originally from Wisconsin, Katie received her BFA in Ceramics from UW-Eau Claire in 2000. She has been working in clay since 1991 when she discovered her passion for ceramics in middle school. She went on to explore ceramics in high school, and chose it as her emphasis in art school in college starting in 1996. Katie explored wheel throwing and hand building clay sculpture while in college using electric low firing, gas high firing reduction and also in Anagama wood firing processes. She has now lived in Utah for 14 years, and has worked in the Kimball Art Center ceramics studio for those years. Hand building is her primary focus now, but also enjoys throwing functional ceramics on the wheel. Katie's organic style is one of kind and has become a favorite of many.
