Business Description

I graduated from Moraine Valley community college in Palos Hills (my home town), IL. in 1989 with a AAS in automotive and an AA in business. Worked part-time while going school at Hamel's Engine repair (86-88) and Oil Express - Downers Grove (88-94). In 1991 became assistant manager and took care of the daily operations. That was what really inspired me to have my own business. The manager was the owners nephew, so I knew I wasn't going to be the manager and left there Labor Day weekend in 1994. I started the Tuesday after Labor Day (Sept. 6th) at Illinois Lift Truck as an apprentice fork lift mechanic.. Lift Trucks are a bit different than cars so I gained knowledge in hydraulics and electrical controls. IL Lift Truck became IL Material Handling, worked with them until Nov. 2nd, 2000. Went back to Moraine Valley, took a small business course in December 2000, auto refresher couses Jan - May 2001. Became ASE Certified. Signed the lease on the building June 2001, opened Oct. 1st, 2001.
