Its original structure has been in place since the 1930s, and it has a rich history that dates back to when it was a hunting lodge made from oak logs taken from the property. Over the years, it has transformed into a restaurant known for its "great steaks," and later, in the late 70s and early 80s, it became one of western Maryland's first gay clubs.

In the summer of 2010, The Lodge was born when co-owners Tanya and Cathie passed the keys to Ryan and Joe. Since then, this beloved gay club has undergone some cosmetic updates to modernize its look and feel. The updates started with the removal of "the wall," and the addition of a new "C-shaped" main bar, patio bar, new lighting, and Illusions Lounge, which opened at its two-year anniversary.

The Lodge has a casual ambiance that attracts a diverse crowd, and it's open regularly on Thursday nights for Karaoke from 9 pm to 1 am. On Fridays and Saturdays nights, it's open from 9 pm to 2 am. Additionally, on the first Wednesday night of the month, The Lodge hosts its Hump Night Divas Drag Show from 9 pm to 1 am. On holiday Mondays through Sundays, it's open from 9 pm to 1 am for Drag Show and Dance Nights.
