Roberts' Roost, owned by Connie "Roberts" Zink, is a little two bedroom, one bathroom, living room and kitchen bungalow that was built in 1974 by Connie's uncle, Glen Roberts. After Glen's death, it was purchased by Connie's father, Herman Roberts and then later passed on to Connie. The one-third acre parcel of land the house is built on, was once part of the Roberts family farm. The farm was originally purchased by Connie's great great grandfather and grandmother in 1860. 2014 marks the 100th anniversary of the farm being purchased by Harman Augustus (Gust) Roberts on March 3rd, 1914. Gust and Eliza Brunner Roberts went on to raise 16 children on the 160 acre family homestead with it remaining in the Roberts family until 1974 when it was sold at auction after Gust's death. The one third acre of serene countryside that contains Roberts' Roost is the last remaining parcel of the homestead left in the Roberts family.
