"I was always intrigued with the retail truck business and enjoyed learning it from the ground up," he says. "Being a successful truck dealer is about taking care of customers, being involved in the community and developing strong working relationships with employees and suppliers."

Under McCandless's leadership, the dealership has won several industry awards, including Idealease, Inc.'s Idealgold performance recognition for 13 consecutive years and ATD of The Year Award. Other awards include Navistar's Circle of Excellence and Diamond Club Parts Sales Achievement.

McCandless has supported and contributed to several organizations, including the Boy Scouts, Green Valley Little League, Henderson Youth Sports, Grandview Booster Club, Cherry Creek Schools and the Independence Fund Organization. He has also been involved with the Rotary Club, where he served as president in 1992.
