Business Description
William Doland, manager of Doland Jewelers, was born and raised in Bellevue, Iowa. His first paid position in the jewelry business began while in the seventh grade with the illustrious jobs of sweeping floors and taking out garbage at his father's store. Within a few months, his dad had set him to work at the wax bench and began teaching him the art of carving jewelry.
Upon his 1999 graduation from Bellevue's Marquette High School, Will was off to the University of Northern Iowa. He persued a bachelor's degree in Art Studio with an emphasis on jewelry metals. The next stop after college was Carlsbad, California, where Will attended the Gemological Institute of America for diamond and colored stone grading and identification. By December of 2003, his first professional career opportunity came along as he became manager of the Doland store in Davenport.
